Congrats to Team Fresno for winning the Sacremento tournament last weekend. Tournament was a little under the radar, so there was not much info on the tourney. Also good job to Shootout for placing second.

There are 3 tournaments for the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Santa Ana - California, St. Paul - Minnesota, and also the Toccoa Falls Hmong Church tourney in Georgia. So good luck to all the teams attending. Remember to be thankful for all the things you have as we observe this Thanksgiving Holiday. Have a Happy Turkey Day!!!!!

2006 Year Review

What a year of asian basketball 2006 has been. Yes the year is coming to an end. We have had a lot of great tournaments this year. This year has brought a lot of new tournaments and new faces to the asian basketball world. Looking back from last year to this year, asian basketball has grown at a rapid rate. And it will continue to grow. With more exposure through websites and more national tournaments, we have connected coast to coast, and region to region. We now know of talents like Xiro, Scott Domingo, Hank, and Darin Maki. In past years it was tough to find out about teams and tournaments, but now we can instantly find out results of tournaments. We have come a long way. So give yourselves some credit, asianballers across the country for moving asian basketball so far along. Yes there is more to be done. And it will be done. The future is exciting for the young asianballers out there. But here are some of the highlights of this 2006 season.

Most tournament wins - Fosho (Minnesota) with 3 tourney wins this year, proved that they belong among the elite teams in the country.

Most consistent team - Northsiderz (Minnesota) showed that they are always in the hunt if there is a tournament. Also they won both league championships this year in Minnesota.

Best tournament of the year - July 4th tourney in Minnesota. This tourney provides a great facility, great prizes, and great asian basketball atmosphere. Mpls Lakers took this year's title.

Best individual performance - Xiro's 52 points in the Final Four was amazing. At only 19 we will see more outstanding games from the young man.

Newest up & coming team - The Great from Wisconsin was not known of until this year. They proved they can hang with any team. So watch out for them in 2007!
