Asianballers.net/NY Maximum Output 2007 Asian National Championships results and analysis

As you might already know the 2007 Asian American National Champions are DABU of New Jersey. With talent, experience, and size they put a great game plan to become champions. Not very well known across the country. They snuck underneath the radar to suprise some of the teams that did not know how good they were. Not a young team, they did not seem to be very intimidating even though had a lot of size and height. But their play was solid and not flashy. They took care of the ball and hit clutch shots when need, while playing great team defense. Now everyone knows, Who..., is DABU!!

Great job also to TLC for finishing second. Very talented team, also with size and height. They have guards that were quick and athletic. This team will be a force next year to compete for a championship!

Some ranked teams did not do as expected but still played well. Team Oklahoma and Windsor Warriors were both #1 and #2 seeds going into the playoffs. Oklahoma was dominating every team they faced until they ran out gas against a quicker more aggresive TLC team in the final four. Windsor seemed to be cruising all day until the faced the NY Rockits who just outplayed and outhustled them in every facit of the game. Rockits kept #1 Lang (the Warriors go to man) from having a big impact. Team United looks to be in a decline after getting embarassed in Atlanta, and then getting put out in the first round of the playoffs. Just a slump or decling game? We will see what United does next year! With so many good teams like the NY Rockits, Below the Rim, Maximum Output, NY Fury, and Cruisers, their were a lot of close games. NY Yellow Fever lost all three games by just 2 points or less each game. Including losing by two in overtime to the runners up TLC. Great action and competitive play all day. All teams and organizations showed respect for each other and asian basketball. Great job everyone it was fun! Thats whats it all about! Enjoying basketball and meeting new people.

Special thanks goes out to Larry Chow & the NY Maximum Output Organization for their hard work in putting together a great event. Larry has a love for asian basketball and is helping it flurish. Thank You.
