The Atlanta Borameys
The formation of Atlanta's first ever professional all-asian american basketball team has been in works
for a long time. But things have finally come to reality. Big dreams of how to make this possible took a lot of time
and effort. With the UBA allowing the team to be part of the league has opened the door for a new beginning of asian american
basketball.
With the help of the Univeral Basketball Association and its owner J.D. Barnes. The team organizers will
be introducing itself at the UBA Playoff Classic on July 16-18. A few Asian Americans will be showcased at this event and
will play along side with the UBA expansion team Team Japan from overseas.
The plan is to eventually incorporate
more asian american teams for a nationwide all-asian american professionall league (AAB). If sucessful, this will be the first
ever national asian american basketball league.
This league will serve purpose for various reasons. Give exposure
to asian american players. That will allow professional teams from all over the world to know about asian ballers. Create
youth development leagues and all asian AAU teams that would allow young talent to get college scholarships. And also allow
asian ballers an opportunity to compete at the highest level that means something.
We hope to get the support of
the asian american community so that we can all benefit from this ground breaking team. We will give more information when
it is available.
